What trees does scale insects attack?
Magnolia, euonymus, maple, fruit trees. Bumps on twigs that scrape off, sticky honeydew, black sooty mould on leaves and anything parked underneath.
Outcome
Rarely kills an established tree but weakens it and makes a mess. Heavy infestations need two seasons to clear.
