How do I know if my tree has scale insects?
Bumps on twigs that scrape off, sticky honeydew, black sooty mould on leaves and anything parked underneath. It attacks magnolia, euonymus, maple, fruit trees.
What it does to the tree
Rarely kills an established tree but weakens it and makes a mess. Heavy infestations need two seasons to clear.
