What blocks a driver is the band of foliage roughly between a seated driver's eye height and the height of a truck's mirrors — everything above that band is irrelevant to visibility. So "the tree is in the way" almost always means "about eight feet of the tree is in the way," and the remedy is to lift the crown clear of that band, not to take the tree out.
What changes while you wait
There is no sudden failure here — the hazard is a collision, not a falling tree, and it is present every single time someone backs out. Left alone, the band you need cleared thickens each season, and the eventual pruning gets larger and more disfiguring than an early one would have been. The predictable pattern is worst from full leaf-out through fall and clear enough in winter that the problem gets forgotten until the following summer. If the corner is genuinely blind, treat it as a this-month job rather than a someday one.
