How big does a norway maple get and how long does it live?
About 40-50 ft tall by 35-50 ft wide, dense and rounded, commonly living 60-90 years though girdling roots take plenty out well short of that. Mid-bracket removal and normally a straightforward climb-and-rig, but a girdled or badly included trunk base cannot be trusted as a rigging anchor, and that single detail is what pushes some of these into crane jobs.
Spread below ground too
Shallow, vigorous and wide-spreading — the reason turf will not hold underneath one even where the shade is manageable, and the reason its surface roots are the ones mowers scalp every season. It is the one species where mature trees are routinely found with severe stem girdling roots, so on any Norway maple call, excavate the trunk base and confirm there is a flare before you price anything else.
