How do I know if my tree has Japanese beetles?
Leaves skeletonised to lace, worst at the top of the tree, through July. It attacks linden especially, also cherry, birch, crabapple, roses.
What it does to the tree
Ugly, rarely fatal to an established tree. A mature linden can lose most of its leaves in July and be fine the following spring.
