Very common here in wet springs, particularly on sycamore. One of the most over-treated problems in the trade. In Plainfield, the most age-mixed canopy of the three: a genuine 1950s ring plus the pre-1900 Quaker core along Main Street (US 40) carries 60-to-90-year-old shade trees over the street, while Saratoga, Sugar Grove Farms and Legacy Farms hold 10-to-25-year-old planted stock, and the White Lick Creek bluffs hold the town's only real remnant woodland. Ash is gone here as everywhere in Indiana. Almost never fatal on an established tree.

Brown blotches along leaf veins, early leaf drop, sometimes twig dieback. Worst after a cool wet spring.
Almost never fatal on an established tree. It looks alarming, the tree defoliates, and then it leafs back out. Most calls about it don't need a treatment at all.
If treated at all, at bud break — but raking and binning fallen leaves does more than spraying.
