Notably, the NWS Indianapolis record of 32 Hendricks County tornadoes (1950-2025) lists no tornado touchdown at Plainfield itself — the county's tornadoes cluster north and west, at Clayton, Brownsburg, North Salem, Lizton, Six Points and Avon. That leaves straight-line wind as the documented threat here, chiefly the June 29, 2012 derecho, which crossed the whole region.
