Very common here in wet springs, particularly on sycamore. One of the most over-treated problems in the trade. In New Palestine, new Palestine appears in no published street-tree inventory. Because the bulk of the housing is post-1990 subdivision on former cropland, the dominant condition is young-to-middle-aged planted stock, with ash already removed statewide by emerald ash borer. Almost never fatal on an established tree.

Almost never fatal on an established tree. It looks alarming, the tree defoliates, and then it leafs back out. Most calls about it don't need a treatment at all.
If treated at all, at bud break — but raking and binning fallen leaves does more than spraying.
