How big does a serviceberry get and how long does it live?
Mature around 15 to 25 feet tall and 10 to 20 feet wide, and 40 to 50 years is a realistic run in a yard under decent conditions. Removals sit in the smallest bracket — ground-level work, no crane — with cost driven by access and by whether the customer wants the stump ground to stop the suckering.
Spread below ground too
Shallow and fibrous rather than aggressive, which is genuinely why it is one of the few small trees that behaves itself near a walk, a patio edge or a foundation planting on a tight subdivision lot. The thing to plan for is spread, not damage: it suckers and some species run rhizomes, so the clump widens over the years and the root zone quietly expands into the bed.
